Sarkotic von Lovcen, Baron Stefan, b. Sinac (Croatia), Oct. 4, 1858, d. Vienna, Oct. 16, 1939, officer, from 1917 colonel general. From 1912 commander of the VII Croatian-Slavonic reserve army district; in 1914 during World War I succeeded General O. Potiorek as commanding general in Bosnia and Herzegovina; 1916 conquered Montenegro.
