Prager FenstersturzDefenestration of Prague: 1) Attack on the Town Hall of the New Town of Prague on July 30, 1419, two Catholic councillors were thrown out of the Town Hall´s windows. This marked the beginning of the Hussite Wars. 2) On May 23, 1618, Protestant nobles took 2 Statthalter (imperial governors) and the scribe present at a meeting at Hradcany Castle in Prague and threw them out of a window of the castle and into the castle moat, thus triggering off the Thirty Years´ War.
