Pflanzer-Baltin, Karl, b. Pecs (Hungary), June 1, 1855, d. Vienna, April 8, 1925, Austro-Hungarian army commander in World War I (colonel-general). Oct. 1914 until Aug. 1915 commander of an army group in the Carpathian mountains, until Nov. 1916 commander of the 7th army, July 12, 1918 until Sept. 1918 commander of the XIXth corps, subsequently of the army group in Albania.
