Landwirtschaftsgesellschaften
Landwirtschaftsgesellschaften (Agricultural Societies, also called Ackerbaugesellschaften or Agrarian Societies): On the model of Britain and Germany, the second half of the 18th century saw the establishment of associations of aristocratic landowners and interest groups dedicated to farming experiments, publications and education in Austria. The most important such association was the k.k. Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft in Vienna (founded in 1807 and dissolved in 1938), which owed its creation mainly to P. Jordan.
