Fritsch, Anton "Toni"


Fritsch, Anton ("Toni"), b. Petronell-Carnuntum (Lower Austria), July 10, 1945, soccer player. 1964-1971 played for Rapid Wien, which won the Austrian championship a number of times. Became famous as "Wembley-Toni" (2 goals in the 3 : 2 victory of Austria against England in 1965). Ended his soccer career at the age of 26 and emigrated to the USA, where, as free kicker for the Dallas Cowboys, he helped his team win the Super Bowl in 1972 and 1978.
